ederna works in close collaboration with technical centers to develop new applications, and experienced engineering companies to manufacture custom production equipment for its customers. The setting up of this intercompany synergy is targeted at the manufacturing and sales of industrial scale systems throughout the world to ensure that the evapEOs® technology establishes itself as a global industrial standard.

 

Academic partners

In order to get closer to our customers and facilitate the evaluation of the evapEOs process, ederna has entered into a partnership with universities in North America and Spain. Other partnerships will be established soon.

Cornell University, United States

Since February 2016, an evapEOs test equipment has been installed in the Food Sciences Department of Cornell University. Drs. Carmen Moraru and Olga Padilla-Zakour of Cornell University are exploring ways in which the evapEOs system can be used to develop innovative and sustainable products to feed a growing global population and meet its energy demands.

In addition to research carried out by the University, the equipment is available for the customers of ederna to carry out trials with their products. Contact us through the form to schedule a trial at Cornell. 

Founded in 1865, Cornell University is an American Ivy League and federal land-grant research university located in Ithaca, New York. The university is broadly organized into seven undergraduate colleges and seven graduate divisions at its main Ithaca campus, and also administers two satellite medical campuses, one in New York City and one in Education City, Qatar. Cornell University's ranking in the 2016 edition of Best Colleges is National Universities, 15. Its College of Agriculture and Life Sciences consistently ranks as the best college of its kind in the United States.

Universitat Rovira i Virgili, Spain

Since July 2016, another evapEOs test equipment has been installed at the FoodIE group of the Rovira i VirgilI University. Drs. Carme Güell and Montse Ferrando are evaluating the process of Forward Osmosis for food applications.

The Rovira i VirgilI University, located the prominent business area in Southern Catalonia, is one of the leading universities in the European area for the quality of its teaching, its commitment to continuous training and the excellence of its research, development and innovation. The Food, Innovation & Engineering (FoodIE) group has been studying the application of membrane processes in the food industry for more than 20 years. It belongs to ETSEQ, one of the most prestigious chemical engineering schools also with nationwide recognition. 

 

Financial Partners 

Pléiade Venture is a venture capital company which invests amounts ranging from 100 K€ to 2 M€ in young companies. Pléiade Venture is focussing on the development of young companies with high growth potential and the support in the long term. This positioning has enabled entrepreneurs of choice to be brought together in this venture capital, which have not only succeeded financially but have furthered their entrepreneurial history by taking part in such a kind of venture capital. Some of these entrepreneurs have been funded themselves by Pléiade Venture in the past. The current portfolio consists of fifteen companies in a wide range of sectors (with the exception of biotechnology) in France. Pléiade Venture is advised by Arnaud Demont, founder of the law firm Lexington Lawyers.

Created in 2008, Starquest is an investment fund involved in the capital of high-tech companies in the range of 200K€ to 1.5M€. Today, this fund, with 80 M€ under management, supports 95 entrepreneurs in the development of their business. Starquest has, in just a few years, become the second player in its field in France, with more than 30 equity participations per year. Starquest defines itself as “entrepreneurs of capital” whose mission is to help the leaders significantly accelerate their growth by contributing high value added beyond the invested funds.
